Privacy and data

HabitScale Privacy Policy

Effective date and last updated: August 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the HabitScale Android application (“HabitScale” or the “App”) handles information, how third-party services integrated into the App may process information, and what privacy choices and rights may be available to you.

HabitScale is designed so that the values you enter about habits, activities, consumption, costs, savings, and preferences remain stored locally on your device. HabitScale currently does not provide user accounts, cloud synchronization, or a Veldaro Studio server for storing those values.

1. Data controller and contact details

The controller responsible for HabitScale is:

Darko Želj, operating under the developer brand Veldaro Studio
Glavni trg 8
3000 Celje
Slovenia
Email: darko.zelj@t-1.si
Website: https://veldaro.dev

You may use the email address above for privacy questions, support requests, or requests relating to your personal data.

2. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the HabitScale Android application;
  • the privacy and support features available inside the App;
  • communications sent to the public support or privacy email address;
  • third-party services integrated into the App, including Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, and Google Play Billing.

This Privacy Policy does not govern websites, applications, or services operated independently by third parties. Those services apply their own privacy policies and terms.

3. Purpose of the App

HabitScale helps users turn repeated activities and quantities into visual estimates and comparisons over different periods. Depending on the selected item, users may enter quantities, durations, distances, prices, costs, savings contributions, an interest rate, a starting balance, or display preferences.

The App performs calculations and creates visual comparisons on the device. Results are estimates based on the values entered and the assumptions configured in the App.

HabitScale is an informational tool. It does not provide medical, health, financial, investment, legal, or other professional advice. Users remain responsible for their decisions and for checking whether a result is appropriate for their circumstances.

4. Information you enter into the App

Information entered by a user may include:

  • quantities associated with habits, activities, resources, or consumption;
  • time, distance, volume, energy, or other measurement values;
  • prices, costs, contribution amounts, interest rates, and starting balances;
  • selected items, categories, periods, visual modes, and display settings;
  • custom item names and settings, where supported;
  • currency, measurement-system, onboarding, and interface preferences.

The App does not require you to enter your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, or a user-account password in order to use its core features.

Some values may nevertheless reveal information about behavior, lifestyle, finances, or routines if another person gains access to your device. Avoid entering information that you do not want stored on that device.

5. Local storage and no HabitScale cloud account

User-entered values and App settings are stored locally in the App's private storage on your Android device. They are used to restore settings and results and to perform calculations.

HabitScale currently does not upload those user-entered values to a Veldaro Studio server. It does not provide a HabitScale account, remote profile, or cloud storage managed by Veldaro Studio.

Android, the device manufacturer, or other services installed on your device may operate their own backup, security, or device-management functions. Those services are controlled by their providers and by your device settings.

6. Generated Share Cards

HabitScale can generate a Share Card image based on the result currently displayed. The image is prepared locally and placed temporarily in the App's dedicated share cache so that Android can pass it to an application selected by you.

HabitScale does not automatically upload a Share Card. Sharing occurs only after you choose a destination through Android's share interface. Once you share or save an image, the receiving application or service processes it under its own privacy policy.

The App removes or replaces generated files in its dedicated share cache as part of normal operation and when the full data-deletion function is used.

7. Advertising through Google AdMob

The free version of HabitScale may display advertisements supplied through Google AdMob. The current App design provides an inline advertisement in the Share preview and an occasional interstitial advertisement after qualifying user-initiated item changes. Confirmed Pro users are intended to have an ad-free experience.

Google Mobile Ads and participating advertising providers may automatically collect, receive, or process information needed to deliver, limit, secure, and measure advertising. Depending on the device, region, consent status, and Google configuration, this may include:

  • IP address and general network information;
  • advertising identifiers or other device identifiers;
  • device model, operating-system version, language, and general technical information;
  • App interactions and advertising interactions, including impressions and clicks;
  • diagnostic, performance, fraud-prevention, and security information;
  • coarse location inferred from information such as IP address, where applicable.

HabitScale does not intentionally send your habit values, savings values, custom item names, prices, costs, or Share Card content to Google as custom advertising parameters. Standard advertising requests are used.

Advertising data may be processed by Google and participating advertising partners under their own privacy terms. Their processing may include ad delivery, frequency limitation, measurement, fraud prevention, security, reporting, and—where permitted— personalized advertising.

8. Advertising consent and privacy choices

HabitScale uses Google's User Messaging Platform (“UMP”) to obtain or manage advertising-related choices where required. For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other applicable regions, the App may display Google's consent form before advertising requests are permitted.

Depending on the choices made available in your region, you may be able to consent, refuse consent, choose between personalized and non-personalized advertising, or manage participating vendors and purposes.

Where Google reports that a privacy-options entry point is required, HabitScale makes an “Ad privacy choices” option available in the Privacy section of Settings. This allows you to reopen the official Google privacy-options form and change your choice.

Refusing optional consent does not prevent the core HabitScale calculations from working. It may result in non-personalized or limited advertising, or no advertising, depending on applicable requirements and available demand.

9. Pro purchase and Google Play Billing

HabitScale may offer a Pro entitlement through Google Play. Purchase processing, payment details, order records, and the Google account used for a transaction are handled by Google Play, not by Veldaro Studio.

HabitScale uses Google Play Billing to request the current ownership status of the HabitScale Pro product, restore a purchase, and determine whether Pro features should be enabled. The App may store a local entitlement state for interface continuity, but Google Play remains the authoritative source for ownership verification.

HabitScale does not receive your full payment-card number. Google may provide the App with purchase-related technical responses, product identifiers, purchase states, and related information required to verify or restore the entitlement.

Deleting local App data does not cancel, refund, consume, or revoke a Google Play purchase. When the App reconnects to Google Play, an eligible owned purchase can be restored.

10. Analytics

The current production design does not use an active third-party analytics provider to create behavioral profiles of HabitScale users.

The App contains a privacy setting for optional analytics consent so that analytics can remain disabled unless an appropriate implementation and disclosure are added. If a third-party analytics or crash-reporting service is introduced in a later version, this Privacy Policy and the relevant store disclosures will be updated before or with that release.

Advertising providers may still perform their own advertising measurement and diagnostics as explained in the advertising sections above.

11. Support and privacy communications

If you contact Veldaro Studio by email, the information you choose to provide may include your email address, message content, screenshots, App version, device details, or other information relevant to the request.

Such information is used to answer your request, investigate a problem, maintain necessary correspondence, protect legal rights, or comply with legal obligations. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or unrelated sensitive information.

Support and privacy correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the request, follow-up, security, dispute prevention, and applicable legal obligations.

12. Purposes and legal bases

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, information may be processed on the following bases:

  • Performance of a service or steps requested by you: operating App features, handling support, and restoring eligible purchases.
  • Consent: optional advertising personalization, vendor purposes, or future optional analytics where consent is required.
  • Legitimate interests: maintaining App security, preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing problems, answering communications, and protecting legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: complying with applicable laws, regulatory requests, tax or accounting duties, and lawful authority requests.

Local calculations performed entirely on your device generally do not require Veldaro Studio to receive or access the values used in those calculations.

13. When information may be shared

Veldaro Studio does not sell the values you enter into HabitScale.

Information may be processed or disclosed in limited circumstances:

  • to Google and participating providers for advertising, consent management, and purchase verification;
  • to an email or infrastructure provider when you contact support;
  • to professional advisers where reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, security, or compliance purposes;
  • to authorities or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security;
  • in connection with a lawful reorganization, transfer, or succession of the App, subject to applicable safeguards.

Any application or service you select through the Android share interface receives only the content you choose to share and processes it under its own rules.

14. International data transfers

Google and other third-party providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence, including countries that may apply different data-protection rules.

Where required, such providers are responsible for using applicable transfer mechanisms and safeguards, which may include adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful measures described in their privacy documentation.

HabitScale's locally stored user-entered values are not transferred internationally by a Veldaro Studio cloud service because no such service is currently used.

15. Retention

User-entered values and settings remain on the device until they are changed, deleted, reset, removed with App data, or removed when the App is uninstalled.

Temporary Share Card files are retained only in the App's dedicated cache until they are replaced, cleared, or removed by the operating system or the App's deletion function.

Purchase information held by Google, advertising information held by Google or its partners, and consent records are retained according to the relevant provider's policies and legal obligations.

Email correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose of the communication and related legal, security, and record-keeping needs.

16. Deleting App data

HabitScale provides a “Delete all app data” option in Settings. After confirmation, it is designed to remove:

  • habit and quantity entries;
  • Savings settings and values;
  • edited built-in item data and custom items;
  • App settings, onboarding state, consent-related local settings, and cached local entitlement state;
  • generated Share Card files in the App's dedicated share cache.

You may also delete HabitScale data through Android settings or uninstall the App.

Because HabitScale does not maintain a Veldaro Studio user account or cloud profile, there is no separate HabitScale server account that must be deleted.

Deleting App data does not delete information independently retained by Google or another third party. Use the relevant provider's controls for such information.

17. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding personal data processed by Veldaro Studio, including rights to:

  • request access to personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing;
  • request data portability where applicable;
  • lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

Because core HabitScale values remain local and are not received by Veldaro Studio, Veldaro Studio normally cannot access, identify, export, correct, or delete those device-local values remotely. You can manage them directly in the App or through Android device settings.

To exercise a right concerning information held by Veldaro Studio, email darko.zelj@t-1.si. Reasonable information may be requested to verify the request and protect against unauthorized disclosure.

You may also contact the Slovenian Information Commissioner or another competent supervisory authority in your place of residence or work.

18. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. The App keeps core user-entered values in private local application storage and does not expose a Veldaro Studio cloud database containing those values.

No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, operating-system updates, screen lock, backups, Google account, and applications selected for sharing.

19. Children and target audience

HabitScale is not directed to children under 13 and is not designed as a child-focused service. Veldaro Studio does not knowingly request names, contact details, or accounts from children through the App.

Some HabitScale categories concern adult habits or products and may not be suitable for children. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising use by minors and deciding whether the App is appropriate.

If you believe a child has sent personal information to Veldaro Studio through support email, contact us so that the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

20. Third-party services

HabitScale currently relies on the following principal third-party services:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): advertising delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and related functions;
  • Google User Messaging Platform: consent and privacy-choice forms where applicable;
  • Google Play Billing: purchase processing, entitlement verification, and restoration;
  • Android sharing and external applications: delivery of Share Cards only when you choose to share.

Google and other recipients operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Review their documentation and your Google and Android privacy settings for further details.

21. Google Play Data safety

The Google Play Data safety form is a store disclosure summarizing data practices for the released App and its integrated SDKs. It is maintained separately in Google Play Console and should be read together with this Privacy Policy.

If there is a material difference between an older store disclosure and the actual current App behavior, Veldaro Studio will seek to update the disclosure. Users should refer to the latest published version of the App, this page, and the current Google Play listing.

22. Changes to the App or this Privacy Policy

HabitScale may evolve. Features such as analytics, crash reporting, cloud synchronization, user accounts, additional advertising providers, or other services are not covered as active features merely because they are mentioned as possibilities.

If a future release materially changes data practices, this Privacy Policy and relevant consent and store disclosures will be updated. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.

Continued use of the App after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy applies to subsequent use, subject to any consent that applicable law requires.
